Grants and Writing Resources for Chiang Mai University
In Shenzhen in October 2026, an undergraduate and a master's student from CMU's International College of Digital Innovation took second runner-up at the 2026 Tsinghua SIGS Global Youth Forum on Science and Technology Leadership, finishing third of 12 teams with a project on artificial intelligence for global sustainability. The same month a student in the Faculty of Fine Arts' Thai Art and Creative Culture program won first place at the 7th National Youth Design Awards, organized by Silpakorn University's Faculty of Decorative Arts, in the youth category for lifestyle products made from cotton. The prize was 30,000 baht.
Scholarships
Most CMU scholarships come through two channels. The university's central fund makes roughly 600 to 1,000 awards a year in two rounds, open to students in any faculty, and the 20 faculties and two colleges together give about 1,500 more to their own students. Master's and doctoral students can apply for the Presidential Scholarship. Students can also take campus work during free class hours at 50 baht an hour.
Outstanding Art Theses
The Faculty of Fine Arts singles out its best senior work. For the first semester of academic year 2569 (2026), the faculty congratulated four Printmaking students who received scholarships and whose projects were selected as outstanding art theses.
Where Theses Are Published
Finished theses go into CMU e-Theses, one collection within Chiang Mai University Digital Collections, the library's repository; it sits beside CMU e-Research, CMU e-Journal Article, CMU Archives and a Lanna Heritage collection. The library home page also links to the national ThaiLIS thesis database for work from other Thai universities.
Research and Publishing Help at the Library
Students preparing an article for a journal can use the library's publication support service, which covers choosing a journal, checking its quality, the submission process and open-access options. It also lists publisher agreements that waive or cut article fees for CMU-affiliated authors, though the funding note names faculty, researchers and staff. Before submitting a thesis chapter, students can sign in with a CMU Account and run drafts through the library's Turnitin class, which doesn't store the documents.
When your draft is close and you want a careful last read, our editors are available. See our Chiang Mai University dissertation and thesis editing and Chiang Mai University essay editing pages, or write to editors@editorsforstudents.com.
