Grants and Writing Resources for Franklin Pierce University
At the 17th Annual Academic Showcase on April 14, 2026, the Dr. Kim Mooney Presidential Prize for Best Poster or Presentation went to a student poster on rehabilitation adherence in physical therapy. The day opened with a morning poster session in the DiPietro Library, followed by day-long presentations across many disciplines.
Presenting Research
The Academic Showcase is an annual event on the Rindge campus. In 2025 the 16th Showcase ran from 9 to 4 with two poster sessions, talks and performances, and some presentations were livestreamed or offered online. Students, faculty and staff all present. A Brain Bowl and a Maple Syrup Label Competition fill out the schedule.
Help With Writing
Trained peer writing partners staff the Wensberg Writing Center, which offers in-person and remote consultations on composing texts in multiple modes and disciplinary conventions. It's open to all students, faculty and staff. Partners also come into classes to run workshops.
Literary Magazines
Franklin Pierce publishes the Northern New England Review, a printed literary journal of poems, short fiction and creative nonfiction from writers with ties to Vermont, Maine or New Hampshire. It's a member of the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses, and its 46th edition is on the theme of abundance.
Student writing has its own long record on campus. The DiPietro Library's guide to student literary publications traces campus magazines back to the 1960s, and students edit and produce the literary journal Nevermore in the English course EN359: Nevermore.
Awards and Honor Societies
The 2026 Honors Convocation on May 1 recognized student achievement with departmental awards and the President's Awards. The 2025 convocation program lists the university's honor societies, among them Sigma Tau Delta for English, Phi Alpha Theta for history and Psi Chi for psychology.
