Grants and Writing Resources for Lesley University
Lesley conferred 54 doctoral degrees at its 2026 Commencement: 37 in Educational Studies, 9 in Counseling and Psychology, and 8 in Expressive Therapies. One student received the Edith Lesley Wolfard Award at the same ceremonies. It is Lesley's honor for a graduating senior's academic excellence and leadership, and the 2025 program says a vote of undergraduate faculty and administrators chooses the winner.
Help With Writing
The Center for Academic Achievement offers free tutoring and coaching to all Lesley students, covered by tuition. Writing tutors help with drafting and reviewing papers, citing sources, and planning larger projects, in person at Doble Hall or online. Students can also email a draft as a Word file or submit it through the Brainfuse Writing Lab. There's no limit on visits.
Student Publishing
Commonthought is Lesley's literary magazine for student work, from creative writing to visual art. It began in 1989 as The Open Door and has carried its current name since 1993. The 2025 issue is the latest one online.
Where Theses and Dissertations Are Published
DigitalCommons@Lesley, managed by the Digital Team in the Lesley University Library, publishes student theses and dissertations in four collections. The Mental Health & Well-Being collection holds Counseling and Psychology Dissertations, Expressive Therapies Dissertations with entries through 2026, Expressive Therapies Theses, Mindfulness Theses, and senior theses.
Awards at Commencement
Lesley names its student award winners in the commencement program. The 2025 program describes the Edith Lesley Wolfard Award, chosen by a vote of undergraduate faculty and administrators, and the Luke Baldwin Award for an adult student who returned to college. Faculty in the College of Art and Design choose Senior Awards for Excellence in fields from animation to photography. The 2026 program also lists the June Fox Merit Scholarship and the Dr. William Dandridge and Dr. Mario Borunda Book Awards.
