Grants and Writing Resources for Oral Roberts University
Cinema and media arts students at Oral Roberts University won seven awards for video and scriptwriting at the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters/Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association Conference, and two other students received $2,000 scholarships, according to an ORU alumni e-news. The same issue reports ORU's return to the Model Arab League competition after several years away. Its seven-member delegation took seven awards, three of them first place, and had the highest award ratio of any school there.
Student Journals
Promethia is ORU's literary journal, run by an editorial board with a faculty advisor. It prints poetry, short stories, one-act plays, artwork and photography by ORU students, teachers and alumni, and its 2025 volume covers the 2024-25 year.
Faculty can also nominate strong undergraduate papers for the Exemplary Undergraduate Student Work collection on the ORU Digital Showcase. Each college has its own series, from Theology and Ministry to the Fenimore & Fisher College of Business.
Help With Writing
The ORU Writing Center, on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center, is free to any ORU student. Tutors read a paper with the writer and work through developing ideas, grammar and punctuation, integrating research and academic formats. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments are preferred, and papers can't be dropped off for review.
Where Theses Are Published
Dissertations and theses by ORU students are indexed in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses @ Oral Roberts University, with free full text from 1996 on; the Library's guide to finding theses and dissertations explains how to search it and the print holdings. The Holy Spirit Research Center collections on the ORU Digital Showcase include a Digitized Periodical Collection, the Oral Roberts Archive and Society for Pentecostal Studies annual meeting papers, the last open only to ORU users.
For a final edit before submission, our PhD-level editors work with ORU students at every level. See our Oral Roberts University dissertation and thesis editing and Oral Roberts University essay editing pages, or write to editors@editorsforstudents.com.
