Grants and Writing Resources for Prairie View A&M University
A PVAMU biology senior who co-chairs the Honors College is one of 25 U.S. honors students named Nobel Peace Ambassadors for the Partners in Peace project, run by the National Collegiate Honors Council and the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo. The fall 2026 program pairs a weekly virtual course on the work of Peace Prize laureates with sessions at the honors council's national conference, and it closes in Oslo at the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize events. Each ambassador pledges to lead a campus and community project starting in spring 2027, and she plans to launch hers at Prairie View.
Graduate Research Fellows
The Vice President for Research and Innovation started the VPRI Graduate Fellows Program to bring graduate students from programs throughout the university into the research clusters the university has set as priorities. Fellows work on projects led by faculty researchers in the Faculty-RISE program and may receive scholarships, stipends and travel support. The program adds workshops, professional development and contact with industry figures, and each fellow works with a faculty mentor.
From Proposal to Final Approval
Theses, dissertations and doctoral projects move through the Graduate School's TDDP process, a sequence of ten numbered forms that starts with choosing a chair. A proposal defense is required for doctoral students and optional for thesis students. To schedule the final defense, the chair attaches a draft and a Turnitin report showing similarity of 10% or less. After approval for publication, the student sends the final Word file and Turnitin report to the Graduate School. The Graduate School also points students to Grammarly.
The TDDP Manual, revised April 2026, permits three citation styles: APA (7th edition), IEEE and ACS. Its section on artificial intelligence keeps the student responsible for every part of the document, asks for disclosure of substantive AI use, and lists grammar help and proofreading among permitted uses. The manual also calls for final corrections, editing and proofreading of the entire document before submission.
Where Theses Are Published
Approved work goes to Digital Commons @PVAMU, the university's open-access repository. Its theses, dissertations and doctoral projects collection covers theses from 1927 and dissertations from 2004 to the present, with separate sets for master's theses, doctoral projects and dissertations. An undergraduate theses set holds work completed between 1927 and 1977.
Once a committee has signed off and the last corrections are due, our editors can check a manuscript for grammar, consistency and APA, IEEE or ACS format. See our Prairie View A&M dissertation and thesis editing and Prairie View A&M essay editing pages, or write to editors@editorsforstudents.com.
