Grants and Writing Resources for Wingate University
A recent spring Wellspring Symposium drew over 170 presenters from Wingate's graduate and undergraduate programs. The Spring 2026 research archive shows poster sessions on April 21 and 22, with projects from pharmacy, biology, chemistry, political science and psychology.
Presenting Research
Wellspring runs each fall and spring and mixes oral sessions, where three projects get an in-depth hearing, with poster sessions that move through several at a time. Research shares the program with community engagement, entrepreneurial work, internships, study abroad and creative work. Honors students must present their capstone or thesis there, according to the Honors College.
Research Funding
Wingate's undergraduate research office picks seven student-professor teams for REEVES, a ten-week summer research project. Selected students may get help with summer travel and on-campus housing, and those who finish receive funding to present their findings at conferences. The research page also links to an application for the NCICU Research Stipend.
Honors students can also apply for Evelyn V. Taylor Honors Student Experience Funds, which pay for independent research, career training and presenting at regional or national conferences.
