Grants and Writing Resources for Alliant International University
Over the past year, fourteen students from Alliant's California School of Professional Psychology worked at six sites in the San Diego Regional Children's Mental Health Consortium. Together they held more than 1,200 individual and group sessions for over 200 underserved children, youth and families, according to the Alliant Educational Foundation's September 2026 report. The foundation funds students too. Over the summer it approved 15 new AEF Fellows, bringing the total to 70 that fall.
Research Grants and Fellowships
The Dr. Kazumi Nishio Research Grants total $36,000 for 2026. Smaller grants go to current students in APA-accredited doctoral psychology programs, and larger ones go to researchers and faculty. Proposals must focus on Asian or Asian-American mental health, with priority for international research.
The AEF Fellows Program supports clinical psychology Ph.D. and Psy.D. students in California with multi-year scholarships, mentorship and peer connections. Faculty refer the candidates. The foundation also funds named awards, including the Stephanie Byers-Bell Scholarship for a CSPP-Los Angeles doctoral student whose dissertation focuses on racial or gender equality. Alliant's Scholarship Search portal lists institutional awards, among them an Alumni Grant of $2,500 for a new master's program or $5,000 for a new doctoral program.
